On Saturday, August 22, as part of the ERAD 2026 Conference, participants had the opportunity to attend a Phased Array Workshop led by Prof. Emeritus Branko Kolundžija, together with colleagues from Analog Devices.
The workshop was designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of phased array technology, beginning with the fundamental principles of antenna theory and gradually progressing toward more advanced array concepts.
Prof. Kolundžija introduced the physical principles behind antenna operation before moving on to antenna arrays and phased array technology. By building the theory step by step, participants were able to gain a better understanding of the physical concepts behind the technologies they encounter in their everyday work.
Miloš from the WIPL-D Application Team demonstrated how the WIPL-D software suite can be used for antenna array analysis and simulation. The presentation included practical examples, as well as useful tips and techniques for efficiently simulating extremely large arrays and getting the most out of electromagnetic simulation.
By combining theoretical foundations with practical demonstrations, the workshop provided participants with an opportunity to explore phased array technology from both a fundamental and application-oriented perspective.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in the workshop.
It was a pleasure to be part of ERAD 2026, and we look forward to meeting the community again at future events!
