SWAN Antenna Design Challenge 2020

01-Jul-2020

WIPL-D company will support SWAN Antenna Design Challenge 2020 by providing all the interested participants with a professional license of WIPL-D software and the appropriate training materials.

The Indian Sky Watch Array Network (SWAN) project, initiated at the Raman Research Institute, aims to sustainably build & nurture future generations of talented radio astronomers in India by providing exposure to undergraduate students in the fields of Radio Engineering and Radio Astronomy. The project plans on setting up Radio Telescopes in educational institutes across India, thus realizing a Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) network in Indian sub-continent. As the next step of this effort, the Teaching Learning Centre at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA, Pune) has recently announced the SWANtenna20 Challenge.

SWAN Antenna Design Challenge 2020 (SWANtenna20) is an opportunity for students to innovate and become one of the architects of the Indian Sky Watch Array Network, by designing a novel broadband dual-polarization antenna element suitable for astronomical observations at low radio frequencies. For more info, please check the following flyer.

A time-limited WIPL-D professional software license and appropriate resources will be provided to all the participants upon the completion of the software request form and e-mailing it to: contactus@wipl-d.com with subject line “SWANtenna 2020 – request for WIPL-D software”.

Important note: This WIPL-D term license can be used for the sole purpose of participating in the SWAN Antenna Design Challenge 2020 and can not be used for any other purpose.
